Shanghai Government Scholarship offers financial assistance to international students enrolled in a full-time undergraduate program at East China Normal University.

Eligibility criteria for the Shanghai Government Scholarship:

  • Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens and in good health.
  • Applicants must exhibit outstanding academics and good conduct of character.
  • Applicants for the pre-college program must have a high school diploma and be under 23.
  • Applicants for a bachelor's degree program must have a high school diploma and be under 25.

Application Process:

  • The candidates must first submit the ECNU online application and pay the application fee.
  • They must upload the SGS application form and the required supporting documents.

Value of the Scholarship:

Successful applicants of the Shanghai Government Scholarship will receive the following benefits:

  • Type A (Full scholarship): 
    • Exempt from tuition fees, 
    • Accommodation on campus,
    • Off-campus living allowance - RMB 700 per month,
    • Living allowance: RMB 2500 per month.
    • Comprehensive medical care insurance for International Students: RMB 800 per year.
  • Type B (Partial scholarship):
    • Exempt from tuition fees,
    • Comprehensive medical care insurance for International Students: RMB 800 per year.

Note: Applicants who have won the Chinese Government Scholarship or any scholarship offered by other organizations are not entitled to apply to SGS.
