RMLA scholarships aim to encourage graduate students from various fields (law, engineering, science, etc.) to research resource management topics in New Zealand.

Eligibility for RMLA Scholarship(General Category) 2026: 

  • This scholarship is available to graduate students registered for a Masters program (including an undergraduate Honours degree at the advanced research level) at a University in New Zealand or overseas.
  • Doctoral students are not eligible.
  • Preference is given to applicants with a proven record of independent research, such as through a dissertation, directed study, or research paper at the Honours or Masters level.
  • A recommendation from the supervisor of previous research is required.

Application Process for RMLA Scholarship(General Category) 2026: 

  • To apply, applicants must complete the application form and submit it to the RMLA by 15 August.
  • If applicable, a written recommendation from the supervisor of the previous research should be included. 
  • The scholarship may be held concurrently with other awards, provided the rules of the other awards allow.

Benefits/Value for RMLA Scholarship(General Category) 2026: 

  • This scholarship offers financial support to students pursuing a Master's degree.

  • For any one year, up to three scholarships of $5,000 each may be awarded, totaling $15,000.

  • The scholarship might be paid in installments, and students can hold this scholarship along with other awards if allowed by the rules of the other scholarships.
