ONE Planet Doctoral Training Partnership at Northumbria University 2024

The ONE Planet Doctoral Training Partnership (DTP) offers funded studentship awards for entry in October 2024. This DTP provides a cohort-based doctoral training program at Newcastle and Northumbria Universities, funded by the Natural and Environmental Research Council (NERC). The program aims to train students in key skills and knowledge relevant to environmental research and sustainability, with placements aligned with the Government's Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Applicants must have or expect to gain a First Class or high 2:1 Honours degree or international equivalent in a relevant subject.
• Enthusiasm for research, independent thinking and working, excellent analytical skills, and strong verbal and written communication skills are also essential requirements.
• International applicants (including the EU) are welcome to apply.

Value of the Scholarship:

The scholarship provides full UK fees and a living allowance of GBP 19,237 for 3.5 years based on the current UKRI rates for the academic year 2024 to 2025.

Application Process:

• Applications must be submitted online and include a fully completed application form, evidence of academic qualifications, evidence of English language proficiency (if applicable), and a 1,000-word research proposal. Applicants may also need to undergo an interview as part of the selection process.
