- Applicants must hold, or expect to secure, a UK first class or 2:1 Honours degree or international equivalent at the undergraduate level.
- Applicants are required to have an excellent academic record.
- Applicants of Nursing Studies Alumni Scholarship, 2017 who have been accepted onto either the MSc Advancing Nursing Practice program or the Masters of Nursing in Clinical Research are eligible for the scholarship.

- Candidates must have already received an offer of a place at the University of Edinburgh.
