Financial Support to the Students of NER for Higher Professional Courses(NEC merit scholarship) 2024 is offered by the North Eastern Council, Government of India. These scholarships are available for studies in India only and shall be awarded by the North Eastern Council, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, Government of India, Shillong to the eligible candidates of the North Eastern States.
Eligibility for Financial Support to the Students of NER for Higher Professional Courses(NEC merit scholarship) 2024 :
- Scholarship is open only to a student who is a permanent resident of any of the North Eastern States.
- For students belonging to Academic Year 2024-25, the scholarship under this scheme shall be disbursed only through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
- Once selected, the scholarship shall be available to a selected student for the prescribed duration of a course subject to fulfillment of renewal conditions.
- Extension of scholarship beyond the prescribed period of study will not be entertained.
- Students shall only be considered for a scholarship in the year of commencement of his/her course. For the subsequent years, of course, only renewal will be allowed.
- The student must fulfill the eligibility criteria in the previous qualifying examination for consideration of the scholarship.
Value of the Financial Support to the Students of NER for Higher Professional Courses(NEC merit scholarship) 2024 :
- For diploma level courses - INR 20,000 per annum
- For degree level courses - INR 22,000 per annum
- For PG courses - INR 25,000 per annum
- For M.Phil/Ph.D. degree - INR 30,000 per annum
