Overview

NEC Merit Scholarship is offered by the North Eastern Council (NEC), India. This scholarship is for the students of the North East (NE) Region undergoing studies in different disciplines at different levels in Institutions inside as well as outside the North-East but within the country as specified hereinafter. The rules may be called "Rules for the award of NEC Merit Scholarship".

Eligibility for the NEC Merit Scholarship:

  • This scholarship is open only to a student who is a permanent resident of any of the North Eastern States. 
  • A student shall only be considered for a scholarship in the year of commencement of his/her course. For the subsequent years, of course, the only renewal will be allowed.
  • The student must fulfil the eligibility criteria.
  • Applicants should be having a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate in any level of study to get qualified.
  • You need to submit the following documents : 
  • Income Certificate issued by the Competent Authority, Bank Account Pass Book – Account must be in the name of the applicant, Details of qualifying examination, Synopsis signed by the project guide / Director (Research) or any official authorized by the Institute/University in the case of M.Phil/Ph.D. candidates (Mandatory). Any other document as may be required under NSP guidelines.

Value of the NEC Merit Scholarship:

Reward up to INR 30,000 (based on courses).
