Overview

The University of Auckland Council will make the award on the recommendation of the Deputy Head (Academic) of the School of Humanities (or nominee) in consultation with the Major/Specialization Leader for History.

Eligibility for the N.A.C. McMillan Memorial Prize:

  • Be enrolled full-time in one of the following programs at the University of Auckland:
    • Bachelor of Arts (Honours)—BA(Hons), or
    • Master of Arts (MA)
  • Be majoring or specialising in History
  • Be enrolled in at least one course related to the history of Aotearoa New Zealand
  • Have completed the most recent qualifying programme, preferably in the year preceding the award year.

Value of the N.A.C. McMillan Memorial Prize:

One Award will be made annually for a period of up to one year and will be of the value of $1,000.
