Introduction: 

Lismore City Council has been supporting students who live in the Lismore Local Government area for many years by offering the Mayor of Lismore Scholarships. There are three scholarships on offer for students studying an undergraduate degree at Southern Cross University’s Lismore campus

Eligibility requirement for Mayor of Lismore Scholarship (High School leaver) at Southern Cross University :

  • Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident and a resident of the Lismore Local Government Area.
  • Must be commencing the first year of a full-time Bachelor degree at the Lismore campus (minimum 72 credit points).
  • Selection is based on responses to the scholarship application questions, with consideration given to any disadvantage experienced.

Value of the scholarship:

A AUD 5,000 For One Year award is available to support a full-time student 

Application Process:

  • Scholarships are available for three groups: school leavers transitioning from Year 12, general Lismore community students, and Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students from the Lismore community commencing study at Southern Cross University.
  • Each scholarship category supports eligible Lismore residents beginning university study at Southern Cross University.
