Students will benefit from comprehensive support and guidance from our Doctoral College, including tailored careers advice, to help you succeed in your research and future career. Loughborough University is offering applications for a three-year PhD studentship titled ‘Developing Spatially and Semantically Correct Digital Twins for Infrastructure Maintenance and Monitoring’.

 Project Description:

Digital twinning is the process of creating a digital representation of a physical asset that can then be used to better model and understand the behaviour of that asset. Digital twins are not static models but are continuously updated over time and include both spatial, semantic and behaviour information.

Eligibility criteria for the Loughborough University PhD Study Scholarship, 2021:

• Applicants from all nationalities are eligible.
• Applicants must have, or expect to achieve, at least a 2:1 honours degree (or equivalent international qualification) in a relevant subject.
• Applicants must meet the minimum English language requirements.

Additional criteria:

• Applicants with degrees relating to Geomatics, Maths, Computer Science, or Engineering are particularly welcomed.
• Applicants with a relevant master’s degree and/or employment experience will be an advantage.

Value of the Loughborough University PhD Study Scholarship, 2021:

Successful applicants of the  Loughborough University PhD Study Scholarship, 2021 will receive full tuition fee funding.

Note:

International students will be responsible for their own living costs (estimated at £15,000 per year).
