Eligibility criteria:

  • Candidates applying for Kokudo Foundation Scholarship, 2018 must have come to Japan for research or studies.
  • Applicants must be healthy with good academic standing and are of upstanding character.
  • Candidates must be recognized as facing financial difficulties with payment of fees for tuition.
  • Applicants of Kokudo Foundation Scholarship, 2018 must be from outside Japan who are enrolled as regular Bachelor or Master's students as of April 2018.
  • Applicants must be able to attend an interview in Tokyo.
  • At the end of each academic year, applicants will be asked to submit an academic transcript and either a certification of enrollment or a graduation diploma.
  • Scholarship holders are expected to attend the assemblies hosted by the foundation.

  • Scholarship application form and income survey in foundation’s set format with photograph
  • Letter of recommendation from either the principal or an advising teacher/professor.
  • Enrolment certificate

Chiba University (千葉大学, Chiba Daigaku?) and it is also abbreviated as Chibadai (千葉大) is a national university in the city of Chiba, Japan. It offers Doctoral degrees in education as part of a coalition with Tokyo Gakugei University, Saitama University, and Yokohama National University. The university was formed in 1949 from existing educational institutions in Chiba Prefecture, and absorbed over a period of years Chiba Medical University (1923-1960), a preparatory department of the Tokyo Medical and Dental University, Chiba Normal School (1872-1951), Tokyo Polytechnic High School (1914-1951), Chiba Horticultural High School, and others. Chiba University was reincorporated in 2010 under the National University Corporation Act. Chiba University has been ranked 75th on the Asia University Rankings 2013 Top 100 by "The Times Higher Education".
