Kingsbury Scholarship at Imperial College London
The Kingsbury Scholarship at Imperial College London is an undergraduate award for high-achieving engineering students who commit to working in the UK engineering industry upon graduation. Established in 2011 by alumnus Derek Kingsbury, the scholarship is awarded each year to an outstanding candidate.
Eligibility Criteria of Kingsbury Scholarship:
- The applicant must have an offer to study a 4-year MEng or MSci course (or a 5-year MEng or MSci course with a Year in Industry, excluding MEng Design Engineering) in Imperial’s Faculty of Engineering, possess Home/UK fee status, and have a verified household income of less than GBP 70,000 per annum through Student Finance England (SFE) or equivalent.
- The applicant must agree to undertake one of the listed industry placements or internships and submit a statement explaining their intention to seek employment in the UK engineering industry after graduation.
Selection Criteria:
- The Department within the Faculty of Engineering will assess the applicant’s academic merit based on predicted or confirmed A-Level results, the UCAS application, and a 250-word statement.
- Applicants will be ranked by Departments, with the final selection made by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering. If multiple candidates are found to have equal merit, preference will be given to those who undertake a year in industry before starting their course.
