Kevin Smith Memorial Scholarship at Victoria University of Wellington
The Kevin Smith Memorial Scholarship, funded by the Friends of Taputeranga Marine Reserve Charitable Trust, was established to honour Kevin Smith’s contributions to New Zealand’s conservation efforts and the creation of the Taputeranga Marine Reserve. It supports students conducting research or thesis studies related to the Marine Reserve at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington.
Eligibility Criteria of Kevin Smith Memorial Scholarship:
- Applicants must be enrolled in a postgraduate degree (Master’s or PhD) at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington.
- They must intend to conduct research or thesis studies related to the Taputeranga Marine Reserve and its impacts—social, environmental, or economic—across any relevant discipline.
Selection Criteria:
- Applicants must be enrolled for a postgraduate degree (either PhD or Master level) at Te Herenga Waka–Victoria University of Wellington.
- Applicants must be undertaking research or thesis studies related to the Marine Reserve and its effects, including its societal, attitudinal and economic impacts.
