Islands & Small States Institute Scholarships at the University of Malta 2026

The Islands & Small States Institute Scholarships are funded by the Government of Malta and the University of Malta to support postgraduate studies in Islands and Small States Studies for nationals of eligible Small Island Developing States.

  • Applicants must be nationals of Small Island Developing States eligible for Official Development Assistance (ODA).
  • Applicants must meet the University of Malta admission requirements.
  • Applicants must have full acceptance into the eligible programme; conditional acceptance is not eligible.
  • Applicants must provide the required English language proficiency certificate.
  • Applicants must attend an online interview.
  • Applicants must not hold dual EU/EEA or non-SIDS nationality.
  • Preference may be given to applicants working in public office or NGOs in their home country.

Application Process for the Islands & Small States Institute Scholarships at the University of Malta 2026:
