Jim Sanders Media and Leadership Scholarship at California State University 2026

This scholarship recognizes and supports the leaders in journalism, media, and communications of now and tomorrow. The media sector is evolving, and as they are the information gatekeepers, they require risk-takers, clever, creative executives who can laugh at themselves and be willing to question the established quo.

Eligibility for the Jim Sanders Media and Leadership Scholarship at California State University:

Applicants must:

• Have an interest in journalism, media, or communication
• Aspire to a career in the media industry, in any area including:
  • Journalism and news media
  • Engineering
  • Sales
  • Production (audio, video, sound editing)
  • Graphic design
  • Human resources
• Be currently enrolled or entering the first semester at a California State University (CSU) campus
• Remain enrolled during the scholarship period
• Demonstrate leadership qualities or a strong desire to become a leader in journalism, media, or communication

Value of the Jim Sanders Media and Leadership Scholarship at California State University:

One (1) $2,500 scholarship to be awarded for the academic year.
