Overview

The Janis Grundmanis Postgraduate Fellowship is offered by the Association for the Advancement of Baltic Studies in memory of Dr. Janis Grundmanis.

Eligibility Criteria of the Scholarship:

  • The applicants for the Janis Grundmanis Postgraduate Fellowship should be Latvian citizens or permanent residents and should speak Latvian.
  • The candidates studying the fields of humanities and social sciences will be given preference.

Documents Required:

  • The candidates are expected to submit a curriculum vitae, Latvian citizenship proof (scanned copies of the passport pages), and university transcripts.
  • The applicants should also submit a statement of purpose in 500 words describing their proposed studies, two letters of support from current or previous professors who can comment on their research proposal, and a statement on their English language skills.
  • The recipient of the Janis Grundmanis Postgraduate Fellowship gets four payments of $5,000 each a total of $20,000.
  • The first payment will be paid upon arrival and the remaining payments will be paid on the applicant's satisfactory academic performance.
