One of the most prestigious scholarships offered to University of Miami students is the Isaac Bashevis Singer Scholarship, which bears the name of the Nobel Prize-winning author and former UM lecturer, Isaac Bashevis Singer. Seniors in high school who have excelled academically are given this scholarship. 

Eligibility for the Isaac Bashevis Singer Scholarship at the University of Miami:

  • An undergraduate program of study must be completed full-time by a Singer Scholar with a minimum of 12 credit hours in each of the fall and spring semesters, for a total of no less than 24 credit hours across the academic year. 
  • At the University of Miami, a 3.0 GPA is required for the entire academic year; the first semester's worth of attendance is used for this calculation. 
  • If a grant, scholarship, or prepaid tuition or housing aid is received that was not anticipated at the time the award was made, the amount awarded may be revised.

Value of the Scholarship:

This scholarship covers full tuition fees.

Application process:

Early Decision I and Early Action applicants are automatically considered when they apply for early admission to UM by submitting all First-Year Admission Requirements by November 1.
