  Eligibility for the Edinburgh Doctoral College Scholarships at the University of Edinburgh:
  - Open to both UK and international students applying for their first year of an on-campus PhD research degree in 2025-2026.
  - Applicants must have already applied for admission to a full-time or part-time PhD program at the University.
  - English language test results can be submitted after applying but should be uploaded as soon as possible.
  - The scholarship cannot be held alongside fully funded scholarships but can be combined with partially funded scholarships (on a reduced pro-rata basis).
  - Candidates must have, or expect to obtain, a UK first-class or 2:1 honours degree at the undergraduate level, or the international equivalent.
  Applicants must adhere to the specified eligibility criteria and ensure they meet them to be considered.

Eligibility Criteria for Edinburgh Doctoral College Scholarships:

Applicants must:

Be applying to start the first year of a PhD research degree in the 2026–2027 academic session.
Have already applied for admission to a full-time or part-time on-campus or distance PhD programme at the University.
Meet the entry requirements, including English language requirements for the chosen programme.
Demonstrate outstanding academic merit and research potential.
Hold, or expect to obtain, a UK First Class or Upper Second Class (2:1) honours degree, or an international equivalent.
Be undertaking their first PhD degree.
Not normally already hold a PhD or equivalent research doctorate.

Value of Edinburgh Doctoral College Scholarships:

The scholarship covers:

Full university tuition fees.
An annual stipend equivalent to the UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) stipend rate (currently £20,780 for 2025–2026).
