Overview

NIAS Fellowships are for domestic and international scholars to carry out research in the field of Humanities and Social Sciences. The researchers are offered five or ten months to research a project of their own choice.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicants can be of any nationality.
  • Applicants should have three years of experience after obtaining their PhD degree.
  • Applicants' project proposal should be related to Humanities and Social Sciences.
  • Applicants of any nationality affiliated with a Russian or Belarusian university or research institute are not eligible. 

Application Process:

  • Interested candidates must apply online for the fellowship.
  • Candidates must submit the research proposal (max. 1500 words) along with the following documents:
    • Most recent CV
    • Publication record
  • Candidates must provide contact details of three international experts in their field who could be approached as reviewers.
    • There should not be any conflict of interest.

Value of the Fellowship:

  • Candidates can apply for a stipend or a Dutch University Grant.
  • Commuting travel expenses.
  • Subsidized accommodation in Amsterdam.
