Arturo Falaschi Short-term Postdoctoral Fellowships:

The Arturo Falaschi Short-term Postdoctoral Fellowships are offered by the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB) to support collaborative postdoctoral research between scientists from ICGEB Member States and research groups at ICGEB laboratories in Trieste, Italy; New Delhi, India; and Cape Town, South Africa.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The applicants must be nationals of an ICGEB member state.
  • The applicants cannot normally undertake the fellowship in the country of origin, unless the applicant has been working abroad for at least 3 years at the time of application.
  • The applicants must hold a recent PhD in life sciences or have at least 3 years of research experience.

Application Process:

  • Interested candidates must submit an online application.
  • The following documents are to be uploaded:
    • Most recent CV.
    • A written statement from the ICGEB Group Leader.
    • A valid identification document (passport or identity card).
    • English Certificate (TOEFL, Cambridge or similar). (Not required when scholastic education is done in English).

Value of the Fellowship:

  • Monthly stipend: EUR 2,300 in Trieste; USD 1,749 in New Delhi; ZAR 27,500 in Cape Town
  • Travel: Round-trip travel expenses from the participant’s home country to the ICGEB laboratory
  • Medical insurance: Provided for the duration of the fellowship
