Eligibility Criteria of the Fellowship :

  • Applicants must identify as international postdocs or experienced researchers.
  • Postdoctoral researchers are eligible to apply within four years of finishing their doctoral degrees.
    • They may apply for a sponsorship period of 6–24 months
  • Seasoned researchers may submit applications for up to twelve years following the completion of their doctoral degrees.
    • They may apply for a sponsorship period of 6–18 months
  • Applicants may conduct research in a topic of their interest.
  • Applicants must hold a doctorate or comparable academic degree.
  • Applicants must have their own, clearly defined personal academic profile.
  • Applicants must surpass all the application requirements set by the foundation.
  • Applicants must have published academic journals in accordance with international standards.

Application Process :

All eligible candidates must apply online to be considered for the fellowship. The application should include the following components:

  • Curriculum Vitae (max. 2 pages)
  • Research outline (max. 5 pages)
  • Complete list of the publications
  • List of selected key publications
  • German language certificate
  • Doctoral certificate or proof that the doctorate has been completed successfully, or confirmation that this will be the case within the next six months
  • Other documentation as and when requested by the provider.

Value of the Fellowship :

The successful candidates are awarded the following benefits:

  • Monthly fellowship - EUR 2,700 (postdocs)
  • Monthly fellowship - EUR 3,200 (experienced researchers)
  • Lump sum for travel expenses and an initial subsidy.
  • Mobility allowance and a subsidy towards the cost of medical and liability insurance.
