The Prize was established in 1957 as a result of public conscription organized by the Auckland Music Council in memory of the late Professor Horace Hollinrake, who was a Professor of Music at the University of Auckland from 1935 to 1955.
Eligibility for Hollinrake Memorial Prize 2024:
- The Prize will be awarded to the student enrolled in a Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Music conjoint, or a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Music.
- Applicants who achieved the highest grade point average (GPA) across at least three Stage II Music courses will be considered. In the event of a tie, the candidate’s cumulative GPA and contribution to the life of the University may be taken into consideration.
- The award will be awarded on the recommendation of the Head of the School of Music.
Value of Hollinrake Memorial Prize 2024:
- The annual value of the Prize will be NZD 500.
