The Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi), Institute for Advanced Study at Central European University (CEU IAS), and the School of Public Policy (SPP) are offering Global Challenges Fellowship Program (GCFP), 2017 to researchers from nine countries.

Eligibility

  • The applicants for Global Challenges Fellowship Program (GCFP), 2017 should be nationals of Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Iran, Mexico, Nigeria, South Africa and Turkey.
  • The candidates should have a master's, Ph.D. or equivalent degree in the fields of law, humanities, and social sciences.
  • The applicants should have a minimum of three years of professional experience.
  • The candidates with a minimum of 15 years of demonstrated policy-making experience or seven years of experience since earning their Ph.D. will be considered for the senior fellowship and other candidates will be considered for the junior fellowship.
  • The applicants are expected to have fluency in English.
  • The candidates should have a demonstrated record of policy engagement.
  • The applicants should submit an innovative research proposal.
  • The candidates who are full-time CEU employees and graduates should not apply within 6 years of the completion of their studies or contracts and part-time CEU employees should not apply within three years of the completion of their contracts.

Documents required

  • The applicants for Global Challenges Fellowship Program (GCFP), 2017 should complete and submit an online application form, a curriculum vitae including their educational history, work experience, and major publications.
  • The candidates should also submit a description of their research and outcome in 1000 words and a cover letter Max. 1,000 words.
  • The junior applicants should also submit name and email address of a referee.

Selection Criteria

  • The candidates applying for Global Challenges Fellowship Program (GCFP), 2017 are assessed based on the research proposal's quality, research agenda, and feasibility of the proposal.
  • The applicants will also be assessed on the basis of their publication record and English language proficiency.

Value of the fellowship

  • The fellowship offers 1,500 Euros as a monthly stipend for junior fellows and 2,500 Euros senior fellows.
  • The fellows will also get up to 2,000 Euros for travel, a housing allowance, and a health insurance coverage.
