Food and Beverage Accelerator (FaBA) Trailblazer Masters Scholarship in Food Science and Technology at the University of Southern Queensland
This scholarship supports a student to conduct research in food science, technology, or manufacturing, focusing on developing novel ingredients or premium food and beverage products. The project involves strong laboratory work, including formulation, chemical and sensory analysis, product development, and rheological testing, with additional training opportunities under the Food and Beverage Accelerator Trailblazer.
Eligibility Criteria:
- The applicants must have completed a 3-year degree at an Australian university (or equivalent) with a GPA of 5.0/7.0 or above, and have applied or be currently enrolled in the Masters by Research program at UniSQ;
- The applicants must not be receiving equivalent support providing a benefit greater than 75% of the student’s stipend rate, and be eligible to commence or continue a Masters by Research program in January or February 2025.
Selection Criteria:
- Have studied and/or worked in food science, food technology, process engineering, chemistry, biochemistry, or microbiology, with experience in food formulation, product development, and laboratory work (including safety practices);
- Industry experience in food manufacturing is desirable.
Application Process:
- Prepare digital copies of CV (including research outputs), preliminary research thesis topic proposal (to be completed with Professor Polly Burey: Polly.Burey@unisq.edu.au), academic qualifications (testamur and transcripts), and a supervisor support letter (from current/prospective supervisor).
- Submit their application via the UniSQ Scholarship Application Management System by the closing date.
Award: Stipend of AUD 37,000.
Deadline: 10 January 2025.
Note: Maximum period of tenure of an award is 2 years full-time. Periods of study already undertaken towards the degree will be deducted from the period of tenure.
