Southern Cross University Rugby Gold Rats Scholarship 2026

Introduction: 

Southern Cross University Rugby Gold Rats Scholarship The University’s Rugby Club, known as the Gold Rats, marked its 50th season in 2019. The club offers scholarships to students studying in a degree at the Lismore campus.

Eligibility requirement for Southern Cross University Rugby Gold Rats Scholarship :

• Must be enrolled (full-time or part-time) in an undergraduate or postgraduate degree at Southern Cross University, Lismore campus.
• Must be a current or new player in the SCU Rugby Club, participating in the Far North Coast first grade rugby competition or women’s competition, with experience as a representative or 1st grade/women’s rugby player.
• Both current and new SCU students are eligible to apply.

Value of the scholarship:

A AUD 3,000 is awarded to support a full-time student

Application Process:

• Submit an application while enrolled at Southern Cross University (Lismore campus) and ensure you meet the rugby participation requirements in the SCU Rugby Club or Far North Coast competition.
• Provide a one-page statement outlining your rugby experience, passion for the sport, reasons for applying, and future academic and career goals.
• Submit a one-page Rugby CV along with supporting evidence of your rugby experience (if available) and contact details of two referees.
• Applications will be assessed based on academic merit and the quality of supporting documents, including your statement, CV, and referee information.

NOTE:

The Southern University Rugby club will also pay for the scholarship recipient rugby membership fees, valued at $250 as well as liaise with the Southern Cross University Swim and Gym who will provide a free membership for the successful recipient, valued at appropriately $500.
