Overview
Scholarships from the Financial Services Law Laboratory are intended to assist people in pursuing higher education, provided that their field of study is closely related to one of the Laboratory's research areas (banking, insurance, investments, and securities).
Eligibility criteria for Financial Services Law Laboratory Fellowships:
Applicants must:
- Be registered full-time (12 credits) in a master's or doctoral program at the time of receiving the scholarship (Fall 2026), or hold the status “Deemed full-time” as per Financial Aid for Studies, or be recognized as a student parent by Université Laval.
- Carry out a research project in financial services law.
- Present a quality and relevant research project that aligns with the focus areas of the Financial Services Law Laboratory.
- Have an excellent academic record.
- Show involvement within the Laboratory, such as participation in activities or collaboration with researchers.
- For master’s applicants with essays or dissertations: Be at the writing stage.
Application Process:
All eligible candidates must apply online to be considered for the scholarship. The application should include the following components:
- A letter of no more than two pages detailing the subject of the essay, dissertation, or thesis, the link between the subject and one of the research areas of the Financial Services Law Laboratory
- The final transcript of grades at the graduation of the previous level of study;
- Most recent transcript from the current program (Capsule Version accepted);
- Most recent CV.
Value of the Scholarship:
Total Scholarships Offered: 3 scholarships, varying in amounts.
- $1,500 for the essay.
- $3,500 for the dissertation.
- $5,000 for the doctorate.
