Overview

The Experimental Aircraft Association is offering the Ray Aviation Core Scholarship Fund Scholarship to support local students in alleviating the financial weight of their flight training.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The Applicants must be a minimum of age 15 for glider training.
  • The Applicants must be a minimum of age 16-19 for powered flight training.
  • The Applicants must possess a student pilot certificate.
  • The Applicants must submit an FAA medical certificate.
  • The Applicants must be able to begin their flight training within 60 days of receiving the award.

Application Process:

  • The application takes place in two ways: Chapter Applications and Scholar Applications.
  • In Chapter Applications, the candidate must first apply to the Chapter and then forward the scholarship application.
  • In Scholar Applications, the scholars are nominated by chapters with full scholarship.
  • The selected candidates should fulfill the following requirements:
    • Partake in two hours of chapter volunteer service per month.
    • Submit regular progress reports during monthly check-ins.
    • Reach designated flight training milestones, as outlined by EAA's training timeline.

 Value of the Scholarship:

  • All EAA and divisional chapters in the United States and Canada are eligible for an award of up to USD 12,000.
