The three daughters of Ethel May Barbara Mann have endowed this fellowship to promote science communication via research, writing, and teaching. One of the first female graduates from the university was Ethel Mann, who earned her degree in 1923.
Eligibility for the EMB Mann Tasmania University Scholarship:
- Applicants must pursue postgraduate studies (PhD, master's, or honors) with an emphasis on science communication; this could be in a range of areas such as media, journalism, education, etc.
- Applicants must achieve a minimum pass result in all units studied each semester.
- Applicants must be Australian nationals.
