Hicks Award supports full-time Holland College students who are returning to education after a gap of at least three years and who are custodial caregivers of dependent children.The award recognizes students who demonstrate strong values, citizenship, and contributions to college life, along with a commitment to their education while balancing family responsibilities.

Eligibility requirement for Dorothy A. Hicks Award at Holland College:

Must be a full-time Holland College student.
Must be returning to school after an interruption of at least 3 years.
Must be the custodial caregiver of one or more dependent children.
Must answer: "Have you been out of school for three years or longer?"
Must submit an essay demonstrating: contribution to college life, high ideals and values, concern for humankind, qualities of citizenship

A CAD 400 is awarded to support a full-time student
