On March 20, 2019, the Destination Australia Program was unveiled as a component of "Planning for Australia's Future Population." The grant opportunity's goals are to promote and expand rural Australian tertiary providers, draw in and assist local and foreign students to study there, and give students a top-notch educational experience. The University of Tasmania, the fourth-oldest university in Australia, is pleased to provide scholarships to students as part of the Destination Australia Program.

Eligibility for Destination Australia Scholarship (for Domestic Students) at the University of Tasmania:

  • Available to domestic (Tasmanian, interstate, and New Zealander) students starting in February 2024 in either Hobart, Launceston, or Cradle Coast as part of the University of Tasmania's full-time bachelor's or associate's degree programs.
  • The criteria for selection will be financial necessity, academic merit, and the caliber of the application.
  • Students who are first in their family and who have to relocate away from home to attend university will be given preference.

Selection will be based on academic merit and quality of written application. Preference will be given to students who must move away from home to attend the University.
