Overview:
The Dean’s Merit Scholarship (Juris Doctor) has been established to award and recognise the top ten (10) performing students annually who have demonstrated outstanding academic performance in the UTS Juris Doctor program.
Eligibility for Dean's Academic Merit Scholarship Juris Doctor UTS:
- Be an Australian citizen, New Zealand citizen or the holder of Permanent Resident Visa or Global Special Humanitarian Visa; and
- Have completed at least 46 credit points in a UTS Juris Doctor course at the time of award.
- Where RPL is granted, have completed at least 24 credit points at UTS, with RPL and UTS credit totalling 46 credit points.
- Have their WAM calculated on the 24 credit points completed at UTS only.
- Be ranked with the highest WAM in the Autumn or Spring Session (subject to scholarship availability) in one of the following courses:
- C04236 Juris Doctor
- C04320 Juris Doctor Professional Legal Practice
- C04364 Juris Doctor Graduate Certificate in Trade Mark Law and Practice
- C04250 Juris Doctor Master of Business Administration
- C04363 Juris Doctor Master of Intellectual Property
- Not be enrolled in a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP).
Selection process:
The Dean’s Academic Scholarship (Juris Doctor) will be awarded to continuing students for the following awarding periods:
- Five (5) students for Autumn session; and
- Five (5) students for Spring session.
Value offered:
The Faculty of Law will provide a twenty percent (20%) fee reduction for each Recipient’s UTS tuition fees for each remaining session.
