Day of Pride Scholarship at University of Connecticut 2024

The Day of Pride Scholarship is awarded to outstanding Connecticut secondary school seniors from underserved backgrounds who have demonstrated leadership, commitment to diversity, and financial need. It aims to support students in pursuing higher education at the University of Connecticut.

Eligibility Criteria:

Applicant:

• Must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident Alien, or undocumented student residing in Connecticut for two or more years.
• Must be a Connecticut resident enrolled in and expected to graduate from a secondary school in the state.
• Must demonstrate involvement in leadership activities in high school or the community.
• Must show a commitment to diversity and inclusion programs and initiatives.
• Optional submission of standardized test scores (SAT minimum: 1170, ACT minimum: 24).
• Minimum GPA of 3.6 on a 4.0 scale and rank in the top 15% of their graduating class (if available).
• Subjects and Nationalities Eligible: Connecticut residents from underserved backgrounds pursuing any undergraduate degree at the University of Connecticut.

Value of the Scholarship:

The scholarship covers tuition fees, living expenses, and other educational costs at the University of Connecticut.

Application Process:

• Complete either the Common Application or Apply Coalition with Scoir by November 1, 2023.
• Submit the Day of Pride Supplemental Application by November 8, 2023, through the applicant portal.
• Provide required documents, including a résumé and two letters of recommendation.
• Attend an interview if selected by the Scholarship Selection Committee.

Deadlines:

November 1, 2023: Deadline to complete the Common Application or Apply Coalition with Scoir.

November 8, 2023: Day of Pride Supplemental Application Deadline.
