This prize was established in 1992 from funds donated to the Department of Mathematics and Statistics by Dr. P. J. Collins, Fellow of St. Edmund Hall, Oxford (a University of Auckland Foundation Visitor), to encourage the study of Mathematics.
Eligibility for Collins Prize in Mathematics at the University of Auckland:
- The prize is awarded to the student with the best overall result in:
- Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Mathematics, or
- Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Mathematics.
- Applicants must have a GPA of at least 7.00 (equivalent to an A- average).
- In case of a tie:
- The prize will go to the student with the highest aggregate marks in either BSc (Hons) or BA (Hons) in Mathematics.
Application Process:
No separate application is necessary. All eligible applicants will be automatically considered for the scholarship.
