This Prize was established in 1992 from funds donated to the Department of Mathematics and Statistics by Dr P J Collins, Fellow of St. Edmund Hall, Oxford (a University of Auckland Foundation Visitor) to encourage the study of Mathematics.
Eligibility for Collins Prize in Mathematics at the University of Auckland 2024:
- The Prize will be awarded to the student with the best overall result for a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree or a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Mathematics.
- As a minimum standard, the student should have achieved a GPA of at least 7.00 (equivalent to an A- average).
- In the event of a tie, the Prize will be awarded to the student who achieved the highest aggregate marks in the BSc(Hons) or BA(Hons) in Mathematics.
Value of Collins Prize in Mathematics at the University of Auckland 2024:
Will be of the value of NZD 500.
