Introduction:
Myles Burke, former Chief of the Cape Breton Regional Police Service, and alumnus of Holland College’s Atlantic Police Academy, passed away suddenly in 2011. To honour his memory, Cape Breton businessman Joseph Shannon established an award in Chief Burke’s name.
Eligibility requirement for Chief Myles Burke Award at Holland College:
- Be enrolled in the Police Science (Cadet) program at the Atlantic Police Academy / Holland College.
- Demonstrate financial need (as assessed through the application process or required financial information).
