Call for Applications for 2026 Academic Year

• The Canada-ASEAN Scholarships and Educational Exchanges for Development (SEED) program is a short-term study and research opportunity for students from ASEAN countries to engage in academic exchanges with Canadian institutions.
• It aims to support the achievement of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development by enabling students from ASEAN member states to study in Canada in areas that contribute to the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

• Focus: Contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by enabling ASEAN students to conduct short-term studies or research in Canada.
• Duration: Short-term exchange.
• Eligibility: ASEAN students enrolled full-time in post-secondary institutions.

• Application Deadline for Canadian Institutions: March 24, 2026, by 11:59 p.m. EDT.
• Eligible Application Period: Fall 2026.

Eligibility Criteria:

• To apply, candidates must meet the following criteria:
• Student Eligibility:
• Citizenship: Must be a citizen of one of the ASEAN member states (Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, The Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, or Vietnam).
• Full-time Enrollment: Must be enrolled full-time at a post-secondary institution in an ASEAN member state.
• Tuition Fees: Must be paying tuition fees to their home institution at the time of application and for the full duration of the exchange.
• Ineligible Candidates:
• Candidates are not eligible if they:
• Hold or have a pending application for Canadian citizenship or permanent residency.
• Are already participating in a scholarship program funded by the Government of Canada.
• Are currently enrolled in a degree, diploma, or certificate program at a Canadian post-secondary institution.
• Have previously received a scholarship under the Canada-ASEAN Scholarships and Educational Exchanges for Development Program.
• Canadian Institutions Hosting Students:
• Designated Learning Institution (DLI): The Canadian institution must be a DLI.
• Exchange Agreement: Must have a valid student exchange agreement with the student's home institution that waives tuition fees for scholarship recipients (for undergraduate/college study only).
• Centralized Applications: All applications must be submitted through the institution’s international office.
