BP Widening Participation at Imperial College London

The BP Widening Participation Scholarship at Imperial College London is an undergraduate award for high-achieving students from underrepresented backgrounds who wish to study engineering.

Eligibility Criteria of BP Widening Participation:

1. The applicant must have an offer of admission to a three- or four-year full-time undergraduate course in Chemical Engineering, Earth Science & Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering starting in Autumn 2025.
2. The applicant must possess Home fee status and qualify for the College’s contextual admissions route.

Selection Criteria: The Department within the Faculty of Engineering will assess applicants based on predicted A-Level results and their UCAS application. Shortlisted candidates will be ranked by their Departments, and the final selection will be made by the Faculty of Engineering.

Application Process: 

1. The applicant must submit a UCAS application for a course in one of the four Departments within the Faculty of Engineering and receive an offer of admission.
2. The applicant must complete the scholarship application form (used for both BP Widening Participation and Kentfield Scholarships) and include a personal statement as per the form’s instructions.

Award: Bursary of GBP 9,500 per year, awarded for up to four years of study.
