Kenny Chin is the president of the Kenny and Maria C. Chin Family Foundation. He earned an MA in Political Science from San Francisco State University in 1978 and a Ph.D. in Political Science from UC Berkeley in 1986, with a dissertation on China’s foreign investment policies.
Benny & May Chin Scholarship in Philosophy provides financial assistance to continuing and entering students SF State students with financial need, demonstrated academic achievement, and community involvement.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicant must be enrolled as an Undergraduate or Graduate student majoring in Philosophy B.A, Philosophy & Religion B.A, Philosophy M.A.
- Must have a minimum GPA of 2.75 Undergrad & Graduate.
- Undergraduate students must enroll in at least 6 units, while graduate students must enroll in at least 4 units.
Value: $2,500
Application requirements: Submit a one-page statement of purpose outlining your interest in Eastern and/or Western philosophy. Include any additional information that may help in evaluating your application.
