The Ben Cowen Scholarship supports commencing Bachelor of Arts students from a non-English speaking background, and refugee and/or migrant backgrounds. The Scholarship provides a stipend for the duration of a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Eligibility for the Ben Cowen Scholarship:

Applicants must:

Have applied for a University of Melbourne Bachelor of Arts degree.
Submitted a VTAC Equity Schemes and Scholarships application (formerly SEAS) for commencement following Year 12 or International Baccalaureate.
Be from a non-English-speaking, refugee, and/or migrant background.

Selection criteria for the Ben Cowen Scholarship:

Awarded to the student(s) ranked highest based on overall level of disadvantage.

Value of the Ben Cowen Scholarship:

This scholarship provides a living allowance of $10,000 per year for 3 years, paid in half-yearly installments in April or September.
