The BCER Indigenous Knowledge Research Grant at the University of Northern British Columbia supports full-time graduate students conducting research related to Indigenous law, governance, knowledge, reconciliation, land use, and natural resource management in British Columbia.

Eligibility Criteria for the BCER Indigenous Knowledge Research Grant at the University of Northern British Columbia 2026:

• Applicants must be full-time graduate students.
• Applicants must conduct research related to one or more of the following:
  • Indigenous law and governance in British Columbia.
  • Integration of Indigenous and Canadian law concerning land use and natural resource management.
  • Indigenous knowledge and reconciliation.
  • Integration of Indigenous knowledge into natural resource management, land-use planning, and decision-making in British Columbia.
• Applicants must maintain satisfactory academic standing.

Application Process for the BCER Indigenous Knowledge Research Grant at the University of Northern British Columbia 2026:

• Applicants must submit an online Awards Application.
• Applicants must include a rationale explaining how their research relates to the eligible topics, such as an abstract or thesis proposal.
• Applicants apply through the Awards and Financial Aid Office.
• Selection is made by a Dean's Committee chaired by the Graduate Programs Office.
