Overview

Objective:

This award recognizes academic excellence, research, and resolution at the Design Thesis level.

Eligibility for the Bates Smart Award:

  • Applicants must be enrolled in the Master of Architecture (single or combined).
  • Candidates should have completed the Design Thesis (ABPL90169) or its successor.
  • Students need to be classified as Domestic/International students.

Selection Criteria:

  • Shortlisted students will be contacted after thesis moderation. The students may be required to deliver a brief presentation of their work to the selection panel.
  • Eligible recipients will be assessed on the thesis that best demonstrates excellence in research and resolution.
