The AUT Te Aronui Postgraduate Research Scholarships support postgraduate research at Auckland University of Technology (AUT). The scholarships are designed to support students undertaking advanced research as part of their postgraduate studies and contribute to AUT’s research community across its academic schools and disciplines.

Eligibility criteria for the AUT Te Aronui Postgraduate Research Scholarships 2026:

  • Applicant must be a New Zealand citizen or New Zealand permanent resident.
  • Applicant must commit to 36 months of consecutive full-time study.
  • Applicant must have received a conditional or unconditional Offer of Place in a postgraduate research degree programme at Master's or doctoral level.
  • Applicant's programme must involve research leading to a full research thesis or practice-based research equivalent to 90 points or more.
  • Applicant who is undertaking a Professional Doctorate may receive support only for the research component of the degree and must be able to commit to full-time research.
  • Applicant undertaking a Professional Doctorate may receive this support for a maximum of two years.
