Overview

The Betty Fletcher Memorial Undergraduate Scholarship was established in 2019 by Friends of Antiquity, a special interest group within the Alumni Friends of The University of Queensland Inc., as part of the Create Change Scholarship Match Initiative. The scholarship is funded by the income generated from the Betty Fletcher Memorial Undergraduate Endowment Fund.

Eligibility Criteria for Alumni Friends Memorial Undergraduate Scholarship at University of Queensland 2024:

  • Applicants must be enrolled full-time in a major or extended major in the following fields of study:
    • Ancient History/History
    • Ancient Greek
    • Latin
    • Classical Languages
  • Applicants can demonstrate financial need.

Application Process:

Applicants must submit an online application form. By completing the form, applicants will be considered for the Betty Fletcher Memorial Undergraduate Scholarship, the Don Barrett AM Scholarship, the Dr. Stephen G. Papas OAM Scholarship, and the Heyworth-Smith Scholarship. While these are four separate scholarships with the same criteria, each will be awarded to a different student. If you are successful, you will be notified of the specific scholarship you have received.

Value of the scholarship:

Successful candidate will receive an amount of at least AUD 4,500 per annum.
