Alumni Appeal Scholarship for Second Year Students at Victoria University of Wellington

This scholarship is designed to support talented students to continue their studies at Te Herenga Waka–Victoria University of Wellington by removing financial barriers to study and success.

Eligibility Criteria: 

1. Applicant must be a New Zealand citizen or Permanent Resident of at least two years’ standing and must be intending to enrol full-time in their second year of undergraduate study at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington.
2. Applicant must be a New Zealand citizen or Permanent Resident of at least two years’ standing and must be intending to enrol full-time in their second year of undergraduate study at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington.
   Applicant must have achieved a B average (6.0 GPA) in their first year of study and may receive preference if they have volunteering experience or are experiencing financial hardship.

Selection Criteria: Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic merit, equity, leadership, and commitment to community. Applicants must have completed one year of full-time study at the University.

Application Process: A completed online application must be submitted by 4.30 pm on the closing date. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted. Any required supporting documentation (including references) must also be received by 4.30 pm on the closing date in order for the application to be considered.

Award: NZD 5,000.

Deadline: December 1st, 2025.

Note:

1. Recipients are expected to provide a thank you letter within two weeks of receiving the scholarship.
2. Scholarship recipients are seen as ambassadors for the University and may be asked to participate in promotional photos, videos, and events.
3. The Scholarship cannot be deferred to a later year.
4. The Scholarship may be held in conjunction with other awards.
