Overview

Allan Gray Orbis Foundation Fellowship offers the Fellowship Program to students transitioning to the university. The Fellowship winners get financial aid based on their college needs and have access to resources and programs designed to foster a mindset of entrepreneurship.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The applicants must have a minimum of 60% in pure Mathematics
  • OR a minimum of 80% in Mathematical Literacy for final grade 11 results.
  • Applicants need to achieve a minimum average of 70% in their final Grade 11 examinations.
  • The Applicant must be under the age of 21 in the year of their application.
  • The Applicant must be a South African citizen.
  • The applicants must intend to undertake programs related to Commerce, Science, Engineering, Law, Humanities, Arts & Health Science (Excluding Medicine, Veterinary Science, and Dentistry) degree at WITS, UJ, UCT, NMU, RU, UWC, SU, UP, UFS, UKZN or TSiBA.

Application Process:

  • Interested candidates must apply online or by post.
  • Successful applicant candidates will be invited for an interview.
  • Successful interview candidates will be invited to a selection camp.  

Value of the Fellowship:

  • The selected candidates are awarded the benefits based on the following quotas:
    • Applicants with an annual household income of R1 million and below will receive full funding.
    • Applicants with an annual household income above R1 million will receive needs-based funding.
