AHRC Doctoral Scholarships at the University of Warwick are awarded through the Midlands4Cities (M4C) Doctoral Training Partnership. The M4C consortium, funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC), offers fully funded studentships for PhD students in arts and humanities subjects.

Eligibility Criteria of AHRC Doctoral Scholarships:

1. The applicant must hold a relevant first degree, typically a First or high Upper Second Class (2:1), along with a relevant Master’s degree or be close to completing one.
2. The applicant must meet the residency requirements mentioned in the M4C application guidance and demonstrate suitability for pursuing a UK research degree.

Application Process:

1. The applicant should connect with a potential supervisor at Warwick early to refine and strengthen their research proposal, then apply for a PhD position at the university before the given deadline.
2. They must also submit a separate online application for M4C funding through the official portal and can attend the M4C application-writing workshops held in November for guidance and support.

Award: GBP 20,780, which includes payment of tuition fees, a tax-free stipend, and a Research Training Support Grant (RTSG) to cover research-related costs.
