Africa Postgraduate Scholarship at University of Essex 2025

Africa Postgraduate Scholarship at University of Essex 2025 supports self-funded international students from African Union member states undertaking postgraduate studies at Essex by providing a tuition fee discount based on academic merit.

Eligibility Criteria for the Africa Postgraduate Scholarship at University of Essex 2025:

Applicants must:

• Be a self-funded international student (including those with repayable loans).
• Be ordinarily resident in an African Union member state for three years prior to starting the course.
• Hold an undergraduate degree (including an integrated Master’s) with the required grade.
  • Higher postgraduate grades cannot compensate for lower undergraduate grades.
• Register at Essex in October 2025 or January 2026 for a full-time Master’s course, leading to:
  • MA, MSc, LLM, MFA, MPP, MBM
• Be overseas fee payers and not fully sponsored by any government or external agency (except repayable loans).

Value of Africa Postgraduate Scholarship at University of Essex 2025:

• Egypt: £6,500                                            2:1 or equivalent
• Ghana: £4,500                                           2:1 or CGPA 3.0/4.0 or 3.5/5.0
• Nigeria: £4,500                                         CGPA 3/5 or 2.5/4.0 or 4/6 or 4/7; pass grade for approved Medical degrees
• All other AU member states: £4,500        2:1 or equivalent

Application Process:

• Automatic consideration; no separate application required.
• Eligibility assessed via submitted academic transcripts with the Essex course application.
• Students may be asked to provide proof of ordinary residence.
