South African Medical Research Council is offering SAMRC Self-initiated Research Grants, to early-career researchers and mid-level and established researchers in selected priority health areas.
Eligibility criteria:
- Open to South African citizens or permanent residents only.
- Applicants should be either permanently employed at a recognized research institution or be in a long-term contract
- Preference will be given to individuals who have not previously been a recipient of a SIR grant.
- Research funding proposals that propose work on behalf of commercial companies will be rejected.
Value: Up to R200 000 per year for a maximum of three years.
