Hunstead Student Support Scholarship at The University of Sydney 2024

Background:

This Scholarship aims to support students with a supplementary stipend to a Higher Degree through a Research Program with the School of Physics in the Faculty of Science at the University of Sydney undertaking research with the Sydney Institute for Astronomy (SIfA). This scholarship was established with funds from the Dick Hunstead Fund.

Eligibility for the Hunstead Student Support Scholarship:

• Applicants must be currently enrolled in a PhD or Masters by research completing research in Astronomy with the School of Physics in the Faculty of Science at the University of Sydney.
• Candidates must have an honors or master's degree in a relevant discipline and demonstrate an interest in research in astronomy.
• Students must demonstrate financial disadvantage.
• Applicants must have the support of their research supervisor to be considered for this scholarship.

Selection Criteria:

• Personal statement and/or demonstrated evidence of financial disadvantage submitted through the research supervisor.
• Endorsement from the relevant research supervisor.

Value of the Scholarship:

The Scholarship is valued at $5,000 and it will be paid as a one-off payment on receipt of the Scholarship Acceptance Form.
