Wilhelm Penseler Prize in Music at University of Auckland 2026

The BMus Creative Practice: Classical/Classical Performance student who has the top grades in Performance courses at the Stage II level is awarded the Wilhelm Penseler Prize in Music. The Trustees of the late F.W.A. Penseler's Estate created the Prize in 1970 to help students advance their musical studies.

Eligibility for the Wilhelm Penseler Prize in Music at the University of Auckland:

Applicants must:

• Be enrolled in:
  • Bachelor of Music, or
  • Bachelor of Music (Conjoint) degree
• Be specialising in Creative Practice: Classical
• Specialize in one of the following instruments:
  • Orchestral instrument
  • Piano
  • Organ
  • Harpsichord
• Have achieved the highest marks in MUS 221 – Performance 4
• Have achieved a minimum grade of A

Value of the Wilhelm Penseler Prize in Music at the University of Auckland:

One Prize will be awarded annually and will be of the value of $1,000.

Application Process:

No separate application is necessary. All eligible applicants will be automatically considered for the scholarship.
