The Scholarship's objective is to draw in new, exceptional foreign applicants from key target markets to study a variety of subjects related to Western Australia's priority industries and sectors. The $50,000 scholarship will be transferred in semester installments to the successful applicant's tuition and fee accounts for the duration of the student's program. Up until 2026, one scholarship will be given each semester to an accomplished overseas student attending The University of Notre Dame Australia.
Eligibility for Western Australian Premier’s University Scholarship:
- The student should have received an offer in writing for a fresh enrollment as an overseas student studying onshore for a minimum of two years at one of the five universities in Western Australia, starting in Semester 1 or Semester 2 of 2024, or a start date after 1 January 2024, in accordance with the Ph.D. student's program of study.
- Candidate should travel to Western Australia during a certain semester in 2024 in order to begin their education in that 2024 semester. (Have not attended a WA university before)
- Students should have fulfilled the requirements to be granted a visa for overseas students to study in Australia, arriving in the Western Australian State (the State) and starting research onshore in the semester that they applied to.
- Students should be starting their education straight out of an undergraduate or graduate program, as opposed to using a bundled, foundational, or English language learning program.
- Students should prepare to turn down any more scholarships that the organization may have offered them in the past.
