The Wayne Young Journalism Award was established by Melanie Jackson in honor of Wayne Young. The award was created to help mature students pursuing studies in journalism and communications, recognizing the important role Wayne Young played in Melanie Jackson's career development.

Eligibility requirement for Wayne Young Journalism Award at Holland College:
