Victoria University of Wellington Law School Leaver Scholarship at Victoria University of Wellington

The Victoria University of Wellington Law School Leaver Scholarships support New Zealand’s brightest students who might not otherwise have the opportunity to attend university. The programme aims to attract top-performing students and promote diversity within the Faculty of Law.

Eligibility Criteria of Victoria University of Wellington Law School Leaver Scholarship:

1. Applicants must have their NCEA Level 2 Certificate endorsed with Merit (or equivalent—CIE score of 170 across up to four subjects, or IB predicted grade of 31) and must achieve NCEA Level 3 with at least 25 credits at Merit or Excellence (or equivalent).
2. Applicants must be New Zealand citizens or permanent residents.

Selection Criteria: 

1. Scholarships are open to students intending to enrol in a Bachelor of Law at the Law School, with NCEA Level 2 endorsed with Merit (or equivalent) and preference given to those demonstrating financial hardship.
2. Applicants must be New Zealand citizens or permanent residents.

Application Process: A completed online application must be submitted on the closing date. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted. 

Award: NZD 5,000.

Note: The scholarship value is NZD 5,000 paid over two years (NZD 2,500 per annum). This will be paid directly towards accommodation costs at a Victoria University of Wellington Hall of Residence or as a stipend paid in two instalments. The second NZD 2,500 is awarded upon acceptance and enrolment in second year Law (a minimum enrolment of 2 x 200 level LAW courses).
